Margaret is Lingít and Unangax̂ from Juneau, Alaska. She is the child of Shangukeidi (Eagle- Thunderbird) and Gaanaxteidí (Raven-Woodworm) from Yaay Hít in Klukwan, Alaska. She grew up in Juneau and went to school in the Midwest and moved back home to Juneau. Margaret is passionate about seeing a healthier and safer world for Indigenous and marginalized populations. Margaret has professional and personal experience in supporting others in their healing journeys. She wants to to help others in their healing journeys and hopes to do that in community. She likes connecting with people through laughter, playing sports, volunteering at her children’s sporting events and activities, and sharing food.
Margaret is excited for her new position as the Suicide Prevention Program Manager at NAMI Juneau and working with partnering agencies and organizations, individuals who want to make the world just a more loving, accepting and caring place for everyone.
