Peer Support Associate Training
Peer Support Associates are a critical resource in the mental health and substance use recovery process. NAMI Juneau offers this training typically once or twice a year.
NAMI Juneau’s PSA class is in-person only in Juneau, AK.
Thank you for your interest in becoming certified as a Peer Support Associate! This certification is available to anyone in recovery from substance use or mental illness. The process to become a Peer Support Specialist is as follows:
- Attend 5 days of in-person classes
- Location is in the SERRC TLC Large Classroom
- 12 hours of self-directed videos or watch as a group
- Submit an application to the State after completion of the course. We will pay for the application fee and help you with your application

Peer Support Associate Re-Certification Workshop
NAMI Juneau offers a two-day workshop for anyone who has been through any Peer Support Associate class. This workshop includes a refresher of the original course and the continuing education requirements for anyone who is pursuing recertification.
